Fats, Oil and Greases (FOG) Management
Fats, Oil and Greases (FOG) is a by-product of various foods including meats, vegetables, nuts, sauces, soups, dairy products, pasta, poultry, beans etc. and is generated from food preparation and washing-up activities. FOG causes a problem when discharged to drains, where it combines with other constituents of wastewater, congeals and accumulates in pipelines, service pipes and sewers. This results in reduced capacity in the drainage network and blockages. These blockages ultimately result in flooding of premises and environmental pollution.
NOONAN is at the forefront of this sector and is currently implementing FOG management programmes on behalf of Local Authorities.
